Falls en route Munnar

Came across some more yet-to-be-posted photos of the fascinating hill station located in Idukki district of Kerala state: Munnar. Located at a distance of 120 km from Kochi – the nearest International Airport – Munnar is at an altitude between 5000 and 8000 feet above mean sea level. Once the summer resort of British Governors of South India, Munnar is also called the “Swiss of South India” (Note: Conoor is called the “Manchester of South India”). Home for few of the world’s best tea estates, Munnar is at the confluence of three rivers – Madurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Anamudi, the highest peak in South India which reaches the sky up to 2695 meters is in Munnar.
