‘Golden Shower’ in Bahrain

Golden Shower Tree, Laburnum – The tree is deciduous and flowers gorgeously in summer. These flowers were spotted by one of my friends near Adliya restaurant district. Due to recent dust storms, the light was rather diffused during the last week. Friday morning (that would be today)was clear and chose to go for the photo shoot. Turned many heads with the ‘huge black camera’ with its ‘bamboo-like’ lens. The tree carried several young  bunches yet to be developed. Deep yellow clusters of flowers 6 cm wide, suspended like chandeliers lit for some festive occasion. It is a very refreshing site to watch it in bloom throughout the summer (it is poisonous but beautiful – look don’t touch!). The yellow flowers are responsible for the old poetic name ‘golden chain tree’. I prefer Golden Shower.
